"I would definitely encourage other teachers to go check the resource center out. I think they would find lots of great things they could use in their classroom, especially for preschool rooms. The workshops are also a wonderful addition for New Bedford teachers. It has been very difficult in recent years to find local trainings and many of them are expensive." –New Bedford Educator
The Creative Resource Center was established on the belief that our New Bedford community possesses all the resources needed to support and enrich our cities early childhood system. We know that when we pool together our materials and talents, we have the power to transform our schools for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. We can raise up teachers, support families, and give our children the very best start at life possible.
What We Do:
Weekly professional development workshops as well as monthly artist workshops
Free and affordable materials for classroom learning environments
Education books for teachers
Library of thoughtfully curated children’s books and learning kits
Space for teachers to play, learn, and mess about
Volunteer & Donate:
As a nonprofit, we rely on our fantastic team of volunteers, materials donations from business and community partners, and financial donations. Volunteers who can stock, engage with materials and people in a positive way and/or run odd errands are especially welcome to join us.
We also welcome artists and educators who would like to volunteer to conduct a workshop in a field of their expertise for New Bedford educators.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org today to find out how you can support our children!
Start-up funding for this center was generously provided by the “Art is Everywhere” grant through New Bedford Creative. The grant was made possible with funding by MassDevelopment’s Transformative Development Initiative (TDI) and the Barr Foundation.
